Somewhat new, but mostly unheard of music
So, since I could not find anything new (like out this last month) I decided to post some somewhat new music (such as from 6 months ago), so here I go.
Band: Stonefox- Style: Blues Rock….Their last album, Back on the Wire, came out around this year of July. The highlights include “Go back to California”, the slow hitting bluesy “Back on the Wire”, and the fast tempo mixed with erratic soloing of “Smoke and Mirrors”
Band: The Fiery Furnaces - Style: Weird Pop
This band has songs that will either be hits or misses with a lot of people. The songs mostly all consist of piano or synthesizer, girl vocals, and mix of random sounds. I enjoy their big hit “Navy Nurse” but off their last album “I’m Going Away” the must listens are “I’m Going away”, “Staring at the Steeple” and “lost at Sea”Band:The Heavy-style: Blues Rock
I may have mentioned them before, but this band is worth mentioning again. With a black lead singer who’s voice just screams and howls the blues so beautifully, The Heavy is quickly making a name for themselves. Their latest album, “The house that dirt built” sounds like shades of Screaming Jay Hawkins with awesome tracks like the single “How you like me now” and the almost disturbing “Sixteen”. Definitely check out this band.
