Some Music to Listen to and some to avoid

The White Stripes released their first live album called “Under Great White Northern Lights” and it is awesome. There is also a documentary given the same title, which shows what the White Stripes are really all about. They are shown doing free side shows at bowling alleys, retirement centers, and restaurants. Also in Jack White news, he apparently has recorded a new song with Jay-Z, make sure to keep your ears and eyes open for that. Now on to new music…

Must Listen:

MGMT - Flash Delirium

This song is great and makes you wanting more from MGMT. Their new album is set to release April 13th but can be heard on their myspace page for free!

Dead Weather- Die By the Drop

Jack White doesn’t stop and he shows it with announcing that the Dead Weather will be releasing their second album May 7th (2 albums in less than a year!!!). The song has the sound that makes you shiver; you get chills up your spine when you hear it and it just makes you want to see the band live so you can experience the raw power of the fuzz guitar and piano.

Thee Oh Sees - Can you see

This band has been around for a couple years, but are no just getting recognition. They were just at SXSW and I have recently heard this song on the radio and it rocks. Check out their entire album “Help”

Music to AVOID!

Justin Bieber-

If you have any pride in your music taste you will stand up and not listen to this 12-year-old girl’s lame excuse for music! It is sad that his album in #1 on Itunes right now. Please avoid this at all costs

Snoop Dogg- More Malice

Snoop has officially sold out. Granted there are some songs on this album that are listenable for example, I wanna rock (Travis Barker Remix), but the fact of the matter is that Snoop has recorded a song with the worst rapper ever to come out: Soulja Boy. It just saddens me to see one of the best gangster West coast rappers to become so mainstream.
